Hello, Fellow Survivors!

For those I haven’t met, I’m Drea, a member of this Survivor Club and supporter of the Powell-Drescher Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. I have an idea for this year’s auction, themed “The Power Within,” and I hope you’ll participate.

As Survivors — or “Thrivers,” as Elizabeth reminded us — we share hopes for earlier detection, better treatments, more options, and ultimately a cure. I believe that all of this is possible, but it requires advocacy, research, funding, and building continued awareness of the disease.

If you’ve attended a Powell-Drescher auction, you know how powerful it is when Survivors take the stage. This year, I’d love for us to go further by creating something that represents both our individual and collective voices.

The Idea
A Survivor Power Basket made up of items from each of us representing where we find our Power Within. Each item is meant to be passed on, allowing our message to continue beyond the auction. The winning bidder may keep or gift the items forward.

The Ask
Donate something that represents your Power Within. This could be your time, a story, or a favorite item. You may fund it yourself or secure a donation (e.g. a gift card). Ideas include:

• Hobbies or favorite activities
• Self-care items (spa, treats, flowers, etc.)
• Books, games, or quotes
• Restaurants or destinations
• Relaxation items (candles, teas, music, etc.)

The How 

1. Email me at drea@buddhabruddah.com by July 15, 2026 to participate.
2. Share your item – I’m happy to help brainstorm if needed.
3. Prepare your item and note (you can wrap or I can help).
4. Coordinate a time for me to collect your item.
5. Submit your item and completed procurement form by August 1, 2026.

I’ll assemble everything into a single basket for the auction.
